Quilting
Three Degrees Off
A queen-size top in jewel tones, eleven blocks of which are quietly wrong and now live on the back.
Started as a straightforward half-square-triangle top and became an exercise in accepting an error I could not undo.
The palette came from a photograph — emerald, sapphire, and a deep ruby that turned out to be much louder in fabric than on screen. It works, but it is not subtle.
Finished in about six weeks of evenings. The eleven miscut blocks are on the back, where the angle reads as intentional.
